Year 3/4 News

We have had another brilliant three weeks in 3/4!

Students have been busy writing narratives and have created some extraordinary stories. This week, we also learned about persuasion — watch out, they might soon become experts at convincing you to do what they want!

In Maths, we have been adding and subtracting numbers up to five digits. You can now ask them to help calculate the cost of the weekly shopping or add up their pocket money (and maybe subtract when chores aren’t done!).

We also had the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with artist Jason Phu and created some terrific masks. We ended the fortnight with athletics training, where students practised long jump, shot put and hurdles as they prepare for the upcoming school athletics event.

A big thank you to all the parents who have already paid for Reading Eggs and Mathletics. These are valuable resources for students to use not only in the classroom but also at home to revise what they have learned.

NAPLAN begins next week for our Year 3 students, and they have already had a small taste of what to expect. Please ensure they come to school well rested and ready to do their best.
