HOOKIN2HOCKEY VISIT AT HOLY ROSARY

It was a fantastic experience having Hockey Victoria attend our school today as part of their roadshow program. Our students in Grade 2-4 learnt the skills of hockey through exciting game-based activities in an engaging, fun and safe environment.

While the roadshow is over, students can continue their hockey journey by joining a local Hookin2Hockey program at www.hookin2hockey.com.au.

With programs starting soon now is the perfect chance to get out on the pitch.

Hookin2Hockey will allow children to expand on the skills they recently learnt at school, develop fundamental motor skills while making friends and having fun!

We thank the crew at Hookin2Hockey for their time today and we really enjoyed the sessions.

HOLY ROSARY SWIMMING CARNIVAL 2026

Our Grades 3–6 students enjoyed a warm, sunny day at the Bendigo East Pool on Wednesday 11th February for our Swimming Sports. The conditions were perfect, and it was wonderful to see every student getting in the water, having a go, and trying their best.

The strong support from parents and visitors added to the great atmosphere and helped make the day even more enjoyable.

1st – Frayne (178 points)
2nd – McCarthy (90 points)
3rd – Harte (88 points)
4th – McAuley (86 points)

Frayne’s impressive number of first‑place finishes helped lift them to the top of the leaderboard, with all houses showing terrific spirit and determination throughout the day.

A big congratulations to our Best Contributor Medal winners (pictured) across each age group. Their effort, attitude, and contribution to their house teams were outstanding.

Students who placed 1st and met the Sandhurst Division qualifying times will receive a note early next week with further details. The Sandhurst Division Swimming Carnival event will take place on February 27th at the Bendigo East Pool.

We look forward to doing it all again in 2027, with even more excitement, participation, and community spirit.

SANDHURST DIVISION SWIMMING CARNIVAL

On Friday, 27th February, the Sandhurst Division Swimming Carnival will be held at Bendigo East Pool for selected swimmers who qualify for the event.

For each event, one swimmer will be selected per age group, provided they have met the qualifying times. Swimmers may compete in up to two individual events, as well as one relay and one medley relay. Ages are determined as of December 31. *Please note there are no 9yr old events, we send the fastest student in 9/10yr age group (Grade 3/4).

We will time each event at our Holy Rosary Swimming Carnival on Wednesday, February 11th. To be eligible for selection, swimmers must meet the qualifying times and demonstrate correct technique in their events. *Relay teams must also meet the qualifying times to be considered.
