Principal's Report

Dear families,
Learning Conversations
A huge thank you to all of the students, families and staff who attended our Learning Conversations for this term. These conversations are an excellent opportunity to connect families with school and set goals for the year. We will have further conversations during Term 2 and again in Term 4. These will complement our reports in Term 2 and Term 4.
Open Classroom/Welcome BBQ
Next week, we would love to invite families into our school for our Open Classrooms (4:45pm – 5:15pm) and Welcome BBQ (5:15pm – 6:30pm) on Tuesday 17th. We will host the entire evening on the school grounds. A free BBQ will be provided but please also feel welcome to bring your own meal as well. Once again, there is strictly no alcohol permitted on school grounds. We are looking forward to seeing many families there.
Swimming
Our Year 3-6 students had a fantastic day at our swimming carnival on Wednesday. We are fortunate to have booked a very warm day. Well-done to all involved and to Mr Coates for coordinating the day.
Road Safety
A reminder for any students who cross Napier Street each morning or afternoon to please walk up and utilise the traffic lights. This is in the interest of safety for all families as it is very dangerous crossing during these times without traffic management.
Lawn bugs
Today, we had a team treat our oval for lawn bugs and fertilise. As such, our oval was out of bounds today but will be open again on Monday. We should see the lawn become greener and healthier again over the next week.
SIMON Everywhere
On Wednesday, Mrs Roberts sent home instructions and a code for families to be able to regain access to SIMON Everywhere.
Canteen volunteers
A huge thank you to Lindy and the team of volunteers for their work today getting the lunch orders out. We were close to having to cancel the canteen today as we were short volunteers. Thank you to those who were able to step in and help out, it is greatly appreciated. I ask that, if you can, that you let Lindy know if you can help out in the future as it would be quite an inconvenience for families if we had to cancel. Thanks in advance.
Toys
We’ve noticed quite a few personal toys being brought in from home. I kindly ask families to remind children to keep their toys at home. We have plenty of engaging equipment, and this helps us prevent accidental damage and avoid any disappointment for the children. Thanks for your ongoing support.
Build
I am very hopeful that we might see some temporary fencing go up next week. We are still just awaiting some paperwork to enable the project to begin. There have been several trades in over the past week to locate services in preparation. We are very excited.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or concerns.
Have a great weekend.
