“For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is the gift of God, not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8–9

This bible verse is used widely this week as part of reformation week, which is this week! Reformation Week. If you are unfamiliar with what it is, was a turning point in the life of the Christian Church. On 31 October 1517, Martin Luther nailed 95 Theses (or statements) to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther wanted people to question and think carefully about what the Bible really says about forgiveness, repentance, salvation, and grace.

This is where Ephesians 2:8–9 comes in, we are saved by God's grace, faith and scripture. This truth helped Christians express what the Bible’s message to the world is: that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus alone. It is what we at our college proclaim as well, to all staff, students, and the community.

God bless you all this week!
