Year 9 Community Project
Our Year 9 students recently completed their Community Project, showcasing their care on making a positive difference in the community. From supporting local charities to raising awareness for important causes, students demonstrated a range of ATL skills such as self-management, research and communication throughout their journey.
The presentation night was a wonderful celebration of their growth throughout the year. A big thank you to all parents and families who attended and supported the students, your encouragement and presence really makes a difference. Guided by the IB Learner Profile, our students showed that genuine learning happens when we care for others and take action to create change.

MYP Coordinator
As part of the Year 9 Community Project, Zach Knight chose to collect items for The Lost Dog's Home in Melbourne to assist with, among other things, their kitten season crisis. He publicised the shelter and managed to acquire and deliver five large bags of blankets and towels as part of his ''Towels for Tiger, Blankets for Bella'' Appeal.
The shelter sent him a Certificate of Appreciation for his efforts and were incredibly grateful for this kind gesture which demonstrated thoughtful community service. Well done Zach!

GNLC students are caring!
Our Year 1 students have been exploring their responsibility to care for and protect living things. This inquiry connects to the IB Learner Profile of Caring—showing empathy, compassion, and respect for the world around us. Students discovered that all living things play an important role in keeping ecosystems healthy and balanced.
My favourite thing I have learnt is there are plants, animals and other things working together in an ecosystem. It is important to be caring to other living things because they help us, like bees make honey we can eat or use in medicine when we are unwell. – Dhyan 1C
I loved learning about how ecosystems work together and help us. If we show care for others then they will care for you too, and this makes our world a better place. – Aishani 1C
Our young inquirers are learning that caring for nature helps it care for us too. In the PYP, being caring means taking thoughtful action to make the world a better, more sustainable place for all living things.
