Year 3 & 4

Around our level

On the last day of Term 3, Yarra Road participated in our annual Footy Day. There were many fun and exciting activities planned, which was a fantastic way to celebrate a fabulous term! Below are some of our students’ thoughts and reflections on the day.

On Footy Day we got to wear our footy colors. Mine was black and white because I go for Collingwood and I really liked the lunch orders because I got a donut and a fizzy grape or bubblegum drink. Also, we did sports.

- Grace-Lee B

On Footy Day it was pretty fun when we got into groups and did activites especially with the soccer activity where you had to kick a soccer ball into the net. And the footy activity where we had to kick a ball in the goal post was fun. We also had lunch orders.

- Eitan D

It was very fun seeing everyone’s footy team. The tabloid sports was my favourite thing we did on the oval. We did it with our Mateship groups.

- Maddison H

Footy Day was amazing! It was so fun and I loved the cinnamon donuts. The activities were so fun! (:

- Emily

Footy Day was so fun! Everyone got up at assembly and represented their AFL teams. I was a bit nervous at the start because I thought I was the only bulldogs supporter! After I saw more doggies supporters all my nerves were washed away.

- Paityn E

We did a lot of activities with our Mateship group on the oval. You got to dress up in your footy team or footy colour and we got special lunch orders.

- Indie F

Footy Day was awesome! I loved doing tabloid sports, it was so fun. I also loved doing the games and chants for the footy teams.

Football Day is my favourite day of the year! It is full with games and songs. My favourite part is when we were playing games on the oval with our Mateship groups. But then I accidentally hit one of the leaders of my group but we don’t talk about that! I wore a Patrick Cripps shirt and a Carlton scarf with my Carlton membership cards that my Dad collected.

- Annabelle H

We did a footy parade and we did games on the oval. We had a special footy lunch. It was fun.

- Maddi M

On Footy Day I dressed in Hawthorn, this year was the year I went full out and I wore a Hawthorn jersey with all the players signature on it and I had face paint and a flag and a hawks jumper. First thing of the day was we had a special footy parade in the gym then we had 17 activities on the oval and then at the end of the day we cleaned and packed up.
