Swimming Carnival

WARATAH HOUSE WINS AT SWIMMING!

The College Swimming Carnival was held on the 13th of February at Oak Park Leisure Centre. The event was both a selection trial for our interschool swim team and a fun day for all students to earn points for their houses.  

The 2024 theme “Cartoon” was embraced by all, and we saw many staff and students dressed up as Mario, Luigi, Smurfs, Minions and all sorts of other favourite superheros and cartoon characters. 

It was a very hot day and this made for lots of people willing to jump in the pool to cool off - whether it be for a race, a water volleyball game or a turn at the water slide. 

The day started with a relay race with multiple staff and student relay teams represented.  The staff won bragging rights for another 12 months! 

A very big thankyou to all staff who assisted on the day, and well done to all students who represented our school so very well. It was a great celebration day for Maribyrnong College. Congratulations to the Waratah House for taking out the trophy for achieving the most points awarded on the day.
