Year 9 Urban Experience

During Term 1, a number of Year 9 classes got the opportunity to participate in the Urban Experience program. It ran in week four and five, and took the students out of the classroom to discover some of Melbourne’s iconic precincts and sites.

The Urban Experience challenged students’ personal and academic development and offered a wonderful opportunity for students to be leaders, and active citizens as they were immersed in “real life” learning experiences beyond their classroom.

Students demonstrated confidence and responsibility throughout the week as they had to travel independently on public transport, meet at locations around the city and work in small groups.

The activities visited by students included:

  • MCG
  • Melbourne Aquarium
  • The Big Issue
  • ACMI
  • Queen Victoria Market
  • Old Melbourne Gaol
