SACSA Basketball

In Week 2 Endeavour sent six teams to compete in the SACSA Basketball Carnival, with teams across the Year 7/8 and 9/10 divisions – and what a successful two days it was!

The competition kicked off with our Year 7/8 teams competing early in the week.

In the Gold Division, our Boys Gold team played some impressive basketball and showed strong determination throughout the day, finishing ninth overall after narrowly falling short in several close matches.

Our Year 7/8 Boys Silver team began their day with a narrow two-point loss, but quickly built momentum. They advanced through the group stage, won their semi-final convincingly, and capped off the day with an eleven-point win in the grand final, making them champions of the Silver Division!

The Year 7/8 Girls team also dropped their opening game but bounced back impressively, winning all their remaining group matches. They powered through to the grand final, which was a thrilling contest that went into overtime. The game was eventually decided by a Golden Goal, with our girls’ finishing runners-up after a heartbreaking two-point loss.

Day two saw our Year 9/10 teams take the court for another exciting day of healthy competition. The Boys Gold team fought hard and, despite battling through injuries, narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot with a three-point loss, finishing fifth overall in a competitive field.

Our Year 9/10 Boys Silver team also opened with a narrow six-point loss, but regained momentum superbly. They remained undefeated for the rest of the day, dominated their semi-final, and earned a rematch against their opening opponents in the grand final.

This time, they turned the tables with a commanding fifteen-point victory, securing the Silver Division Championship.

Our Year 9/10 Girls team showcased some high-quality basketball throughout the day. Despite strong performances, they narrowly missed out on a semi-final berth, finishing a commendable fifth overall.

We’re incredibly proud of all six teams. Not just for their results, but for the sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience they displayed across the competition.

Well done to all involved!

Balaklava Eisteddfod Success

On Friday, August 1, our Metal Band ‘Petrichor’ went on a road trip to perform in the Balaklava Eisteddfod, a huge music competition with all sorts of categories like Choral, Showband, and obviously, Rock. We performed ‘The Summoning’ by Sleep Token and ‘Just the Way You Are’ arranged by Pierce the Veil.

We were happy with how we played and ended up coming home with third place in the Senior Rock Band division, which was a great achievement!
