Dear Parents, Carers and Supporters of St Joseph’s School,
There is much to celebrate at St Joseph's beyond our outstanding learning achievements. By collaborating with our community, we will continue to grow and thrive together.
5/6 Camp
It was such a pleasure to spend time with the 5/6 crew in Anglesea. We were fortunate to have perfect beach weather for our beach camp. A big thank you to all the families for preparing their children for the camp, and a special shout-out to the staff for their dedication and care for the children.
Shrove Tuesday & Ash Wednesday
Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day, is the day before Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar. It's traditionally a day of feasting and celebration, where people use up rich foods like eggs and butter before the Lenten period of fasting begins. An annual event at St Joseph’s is morning tea with pancakes. Thanks to the Parents and Friends for preparing a delicious pancake snack for all.
On Wednesday, we attended the Parish Mass focusing on Ash Wednesday. Well done to all students who were reverent during this mass and reflected on the beginning of Lent. Thank you Fr Caldow for helping our children understand the meaning of Ash Wednesday and Lent a little more.
Easter Raffle
Thank you to families that donated Easter goodies for our annual Easter Raffle.
There are more raffle tickets available from the office.
Tickets are due to be returned to school by Monday 31st March.
We are grateful to the PnF group that are working to bring this fundraiser together.
If you have a particular interest you'd like to share with our school and community, gather your team and let's discuss it.
School Advisory Council and Parents & Friends Association
On Tuesday night, our parent groups came together to discuss the priorities for our school for 2025 and to talk about how we can work together to create an environment where all children and their families will thrive.
Parents and Friends will meet on Tuesday 18th March @ 7.00pm. We’d love to welcome you to the meeting.
St Joseph’s is thrilled to announce a partnership with Rochester Community House and Inform & Empower through a generous donation from Campaspe Shire Council.
Inform & Empower is a Cyber Safety and Digital Wellbeing program for primary schools. In school, children will participate in webinars each term.
We are thrilled to offer a parent session on Thursday 31st July. More information to follow.
School Photos Monday 31st March
Photo order forms were sent home last week.
Here are a few important reminders to ensure that our students look their best and feel comfortable during their photo sessions:
NAPLAN
Next Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday, our Year 3 and 5 students will participate in NAPLAN. This is one form of assessment used to track student growth. We know these students will do their best, good luck!
Enrolment Season
Catholic Education Sandhurst has launched a series of images and taglines for all Catholic schools to use as we kick off enrolment season. You may spot some familiar faces featured on our website, Facebook page, and other spaces.
We encourage you to help spread the word by sharing our achievements and information with others.
This includes promoting key details, such as the dates for our tours and Catholic Education Week.
As always, if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
