As we prepare to wrap up the school year, this season invites us to pause and remember the heart of Christmas — the incredible gift of Jesus, whose coming brings hope, peace, and renewed purpose. It is a time when we are reminded of God’s faithfulness and the many ways He has walked with us through the year.
We are deeply grateful for the wonderful sense of community that continues to shape our College. Our students have embraced learning with enthusiasm, our families have offered unwavering support, and our staff have given generously of their time, care, and energy. Together, we have shared moments of growth, challenge, celebration, and blessing.
This Christmas, may these words encourage us:
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favour rests.”
– Luke 2:14
As you enter the holiday season, we pray that your homes are filled with rest, joy, and meaningful time with loved ones. Thank you for contributing to the life of our College in such valued ways throughout the year.
May God’s peace be with you this Christmas, and may His love guide and enrich your family in the year ahead.
Wishing you a blessed and joyful Christmas.

My Valedictory message to the 2025 Year 12s was a reflection on their schooling that I would like to share with you:
Tonight is a celebration of your perseverance, growth, and the unique stories that have shaped your time at Good News Lutheran College. This evening is especially meaningful to me, as I began my own journey at Good News at the same time you started your secondary school journey. We have grown together, faced challenges, and celebrated achievements side by side. Each of you stands here as a testament to dedication, resilience, and the support of a caring community. It has been a privilege to grow with you and to share this milestone with you.
My message for you this evening is simple: “Embrace every Possibility.” The future is not a distant horizon, but something you begin to shape with every choice, every act of kindness, and every moment of courage. As you step forward, remember that possibility is born from curiosity, hope, and the willingness to try, even when the path is uncertain.
Let us draw inspiration from another Australian trailblazer, Dr Fiona Wood, renowned for her pioneering work in medical science. Dr Wood is best known for developing “spray-on skin” technology, which has revolutionized the treatment of burns and helped countless people recover from devastating injuries.
Her commitment to innovation and her compassion for others has made a lasting impact, not just in Australia but around the world. Dr Wood once reflected: “The power of imagination makes us infinite.” Her words remind us that our capacity to imagine, to innovate, and to care for others is limitless when fuelled by purpose and compassion. Let your imagination guide you and let your values anchor you.
Challenges will arise, as they always do. But true achievement is found not in avoiding difficulty, but in meeting it with faith and determination. The words of Isaiah 40:31 offer comfort and encouragement: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles.” Trust that you are equipped to rise above obstacles, supported by your faith and the lessons you have learned here.
As you leave the gates of Good News Lutheran College, remember that your dreams are not just for yourself. They are gifts you can share with the world. The world needs compassionate leaders, creative thinkers, and individuals who act with integrity and courage. Carry with you the values of Grace, Respect, Integrity, and Courage. The pillars of our school community.
Class of 2025, you have already shown us what you are capable of. Success is measured not by accolades, but by the positive impact you have on others. You have already shown generosity, empathy, and strength. These qualities will serve you well as you pursue further study, enter the workforce, or explore new horizons.
As you set out on your next chapter, whether in further studies, the workforce, or other endeavours, know that Good News Lutheran College will always be here to support you. You will always be part of our family, and we will always be cheering you on as you chase your dreams.
So tonight, I urge you: Embrace every Possibility. Imagine boldly, act kindly, and lead with courage. The world awaits your gifts, and I am confident you will make a difference.
Congratulations, Class of 2025! We are proud of you, and we look forward to witnessing the extraordinary things you will achieve.
Thank you and may God bless you as you begin this exciting new chapter.
