Movie Night Tonight

Tonight, we have our family movie night under the stars on our assembly court. We have we struck weather gold for this event! It looks like it will be a lovely night for the screening of Zootopia 2. The PFA team have worked very hard to make tonight happen, and I look forward to seeing you there this evening. There will be a food van selling a variety of yummy hot foods so if you fancy having an easy dinner, the menu is below. We will be selling hot buttered popcorn too!

Tree Planting Afternoon

Last Thursday our environmental leaders participated in a Tree Planting afternoon with Rotary. They planted natives adjacent to the Men’s shed. It is great to have our students involved in community projects and events like this where they leave a permanent reminder of their participation as well as leaving the space a better one because of their work. Thank you to Michelle Mercer for coordinating this.

ANZAC Day

On Saturday morning our school Captains represented our school at the Anzac day service in Eltham. They placed a wreath in honour of our fallen soldiers. Many of the Eltham and surrounding schools participate every year and the focus on student involvement is treasured. It was an early start for everyone but definitely a very important day for our community and student leaders especially. Thank you to Kate Doherty for supporting our leaders on the day.

Year 5 Camp

Next Wednesday our Year 5 students depart for their camp at Forest Edge. They will spend three days/2 nights away and be involved in hut building, the giant swing, indoor rock climbing as well as other camp activities. We will upload photos to the Facebook page as they are sent through to us. As with all camps, the staff have put a lot of work into preparing for the camp and will put in long hours throughout the camp. Thank you to the 5/6 teachers and parent helpers who will be attending the camp and giving the students the experience. We wish all our campers a fabulous camp!

Year 5/6 Production

Rehearsals and preparations for The Wizard of Oz are well under way. It has been great to hear the singing and laughter of rehearsals when passing by the Performing Arts room. There is lots of excited chatter amongst the students about the production across the school. Whilst the show isn’t until August, it will be here before we know it. Information about ticketing, costumes and tech rehearsals will be sent out to families closer to the performance date.
