Wellbeing Centre Newsletter

What a wonderful start we’ve had to Term 2, especially with this beautiful weather! It’s been fantastic to see so many children outside enjoying time with their peers—whether they’re walking and chatting, playing ball games, building with Lego, playing tag, reading in the atrium, or using their imagination to create their own games.
Friendships, relationships and connections are so important for our students. Research shows that positive relationships support wellbeing and also help children develop skills such as empathy, resilience, compromise and active listening. While friendships can be incredibly rewarding, they can also be challenging at times.
At school, students are learning what friendships look like, how to treat others, and how to expect to be treated in return. We know that friendships can sometimes be tricky to navigate. Last week, Tandy shared information about the Department’s Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships program. Alongside this, our school also teaches the URSTRONG – Friendology program, which helps students understand what makes a healthy friendship and how to manage friendship challenges.
This term, students in Years 2–6 will be focusing on Friendology skills based on four key friendship facts:
- No friendship (relationship) is perfect
- Every friendship is different
- Trust and respect are the two most important qualities of a friendship
- Friendships change… and that’s okay
Families are also invited to access the URSTRONG program for free, which offers helpful strategies to support your child with their friendships.

Succulent Donations Wanted
Our succulents are slowly taking off around the school, thanks to some wonderful students who have been watering and checking in on them. We would love to plant even more around the school—especially in the atrium and near our Friendology signs (by the assembly court).
If you’re able to take cuttings from any succulents at home, we would greatly appreciate you sending them into the Wellbeing Room.
Thank you for your support!
