Grade 3/4 News

We’ve had a great Term 2 so far with lots happening as always!
It was great to see everyone who turned out for our annual Open Night to have a peek at the Learning Centres, watch some of our performing arts groups such as the dance troupe and band, as well as enjoy a sausage or two at the BBQ!
It’s hard to believe last month we held our cross country event at Barry Powell Reserve, on what was a fantastic day weather wise, with high spirits and a super effort all round from everyone running.
Our SSC representatives ran a fantastic session for National Simultaneous Storytime which included some fun activities. Students also listened to a pre recorded reading of the picture story book ‘Luna Roo’ read by Elise Kellond-Knight from the Matilda’s, Australia’s women’s national soccer team.
In Numeracy groups over the last couple of weeks we have been working on 2D shapes. Students particularly enjoyed creating a 2D design of a house using a variety of at least 5 different shapes. They then used Microsoft paint to replicate their house design which brought out some fantastic results!
