Inter Sport- Cricket & Volleyball
On Wednesday, three teams represented our College at Intermediate level for the first time in our history. Intermediate level sport consists of Years 9 and 10, so this was always going to be a challenge for our Year 9s to compete against older students from our collegiate schools.
The sports program at the College is founded by a values education approach, which promotes our College ARCH values, in addition to teamwork, leadership and good sportpersonship. Our belief is to focus on values first, and then skill and competitiveness will follow. This was no more so evident than with our Inter teams, who represented the College with outstanding merit and pride, displayed our values and came away from the day with the most successful results our college has had in interschool sport.
Girls Volleyball- won 3/4 pool games, awaiting final results.
Boys/Mixed Volleyball- won all pool games, lost a close final to Mount Ridley College.
Boys/Mixed Cricket- won all pool games. Lost the final to Hume Anglican Mt Ridley.
We are so proud of our students, overcoming some serious competition and showing great dedication to compete well as ‘underage’ teams and achieve these fantastic results. The success of our college sport program is fostered on the leadership and direction of our senior students, and we are incredibly grateful for their work in setting the path for the younger year levels to follow. Thanks to Casey Cesarin and Lui Foloi (Volleyball) and Rhys Kavadas (Cricket) for their time and expertise in mentoring our teams.
