FOOD TECHNOLOGY

In Food Technology, we have been excited to welcome our students to a new school year and get them back into the kitchens. Both year 8 and 9 elective classes have started with great success, and we have been impressed with the students’ focus and dedication to their work. 

The year 8’s have started developing their knife skills over the past two weeks, creating Fruit Kebabs and Tzatziki with Vegetable Sticks. This allows students to practice safe knife skills, recipe reading, teamwork and cleaning/pack down routines. 

The year 9’s have put their knowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene to the test, making Mini Vegetarian Quiches with a high-risk food- egg. This year, students will cook every second week in their double food technology lessons. 

Food Technology is running as an elective, which means students will complete the subject for six months and then swap with another subject. We are excited to see how our students go with upcoming recipes!
