Congratulations to the 60 students who go onto District later in May.

Our juniors also took part in a short course cross country event, where they demonstrated great enthusiasm. Despite the shorter distance, the race gave them an introduction to house spirit and cross country. Look at these smiles!!

A special thank you goes to David Kight, our new PE teacher, who successfully organised and led such a major event in just week two of his new role. His enthusiasm and dedication were evident in every aspect of the day. We also extend our sincere thanks to all the teachers and parents who cheered, manned street corners, ran with students and supported the event in their various roles, helping to ensure everything ran smoothly and safely. As always, all csupport was greatly appreciated and played a vital part in the event’s success.

Let's Talk

The “Let’s Talk” program at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School is a student wellbeing and mental health initiative designed to help kids feel safe talking about their thoughts, worries, and emotions. The whole program is built around something important: if students feel safe to talk early, small worries don’t turn into bigger problems. This week our 5/6 students showcased the program through an after school performance. Weeks of coaching and rehearsals went into creating a powerful performance promoting psychological safety in our school. A shout out to Kate Tyson fot her leadership of this performance.

Kindergarten Enrolments

Mt Pleasant Kindergarten offers 3YO and 4YO Funded Kindergarten programs.

Please book a tour or a Stay and Play time at our Open Day on May 23rd, 2026.

All enrolments are placed through Whitehorse Pre School Association.

You can apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) in 2027 from Monday 20 April 2026.

Here at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School, we use the Department of Education’s secure digital enrolment system called Vic Students. This means you can submit your Foundation (Prep) application online and receive updates through the system. If you have any questions about the online enrolment process, please contact Louise in our office.

Paper enrolment application forms are also available on request. Submit an enrolment application by Friday 31 July 2026.

Applications for Year 7 open from Monday 20 April 2026.

Victorian government primary schools manage the Year 7 placement process for their Year 6 students in accordance with the timeline. At the start of Term 2, we will distribute information packs to parents and carers.

AEU Strike Action

As part of the campaign, AEU members will be taking further industrial action, including half-day stopworks on a rolling, region-by-region basis. This means each school will be affected once. We understand this can cause disruption for students and families. Staff are taking this action because they care deeply about public education and want to see our schools properly funded, and to receive fair pay and conditions, all of which are critical to a prosperous future for Victoria’s public school students.

Union members at our school will stop work for half a day on June10th.

Portable removal

This week, we had the portable removed off the oval, which was an exciting milestone for our school. It was a great sight to see the space opened up again. New soil has been laid and fresh seed planted, marking the beginning of the oval’s restoration. We look forward to watching the area gro
