Confirmation 2025

This weekend, our students who have been preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation will take this important step in their faith journey.

Below are the candidates and a brief explanation of why they chose their Confirmation Saint names.

Remy I - St Michael "I chose this saint because he is an archangel and he defeated Satan in a great battle, and I may get a job as a police officer, so I know I can count on him to keep back evil."

Kaymon M - St Anthony of Padua "I chose St Anthony because I lose and forget where I place things. I picked St Anthony as my patron saint because he is the patron of lost items"

Mira P - St Hildegard "I chose St Hildegard because of her passion towards writing"

Lucy H - St Catherine of Bologna "The reason why I chose this saint is because she is the patron saint of art, and I love art. She loves art because she uses it to express her faith, I love it because I express my love for things, my family or friends through art."

Liam C - St Sebastian "I chose St Sebastian because he has the same name as my friend and also because he is the patron saint of sport"

Hamish W - St Luke "I chose this saint because I am creatinve and I like to draw and paint things"

Sebastian P - St Sebastian "I picked Saint Sebastian because my name is Sebastian and he is the patron saint of athletes, archers and soldiers"

Mia L - St Cecilia " I chose Saint Cecilia because she  is the patron saint of music and music/singing has always been a passion of mine ever since I was little."

Prayer for our Confirmation Candidates

Heavenly Father,

God of power and of love.

We pray for the children of St Augustine's and all the children who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

May your Holy Spirit help them to grow in faith, hope and love and may they come to know you as the one true God who loves them without limit.

May their hearts welcome you gladly; May their ears hear your voice in the scriptures;

May their eyes see you in all things;

And may they proclaim your glory as they walk in the ways of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.

Amen.
