During Weeks 5 and 6, students have again showcased their persistence, resilience and hard work. A focus has been on interacting with peers, and it has been great to see students playing games such as Uno and sharing the play equipment during recess. Student leadership has also taken place. The PBS draw has provided opportunities for students to count tickets, announce winners and collect prizes for showing the Expected Behaviours.
Thank you to families for their input during Student Support Group meetings. Individual Education Plan goals are currently being finalised and will be available on Xuno on Friday 20 March.
We have some exciting incursions coming up:
On Thursday 26 March, we will have a Ramadan Parade where students are invited to share their lanterns and banners created during Visual art class.
On Wednesday 1 April, we will celebrate Autism Awareness with Jacanarama.
On Thursday 2 April, we will celebrate Easter with a hat parade. Students have been invited to create hats at school to share with others.
Feel free to reach out anytime,
Amelia and Sean
We have had a wonderful start to the term in Room 21. Teachers have been getting to know students and learning more about their literacy and numeracy levels so we can better support each student’s learning and progress.
We would also like to warmly welcome our new student, Roksana, to our class. We are very happy to have her join Room 21 and look forward to helping her settle into our classroom community.
We are also pleased to share that all Student Support Group (SSG) meetings have been completed. These meetings provided a valuable opportunity for teachers to connect with parents and carers, discuss students’ learning goals, and strengthen our partnership in supporting each student’s development.
Students are developing their phonics and word knowledge through activities such as:
Students also practise reading using Reading Eggs to support their learning in an engaging way.
