Principals Report

As Term 3 draws to a close, I encourage all families to look back on the many achievements and events that have taken place over the past 10 weeks. We have celebrated the Sacrament of First Reconciliation, run our School Athletics Carnival, celebrated Father's Day and Grandparent's Day, held our Book Week Parade, celebrated 100 days of Prep learning and much more! We have a big Term 4 ahead, please familiarise yourself with the dates attached below.

Last Thursday, in the sunshine, we enjoyed our annual School Athletics Carnival. It was great to see so many families take the opportunity to see our future athletes in action. A reminder that our school hosts the Yarrawonga Little Aths club on Monday nights over summer. This may be a program your child/ren would enjoy. Thank you to Tim, the staff, parent helpers for the smooth and enjoyable running of the day, and Go Loreto! We have a strong team to send to Divisional Athletics next term.

R U Ok? Day was celebrated in style at school with students (and staff) wearing a splash of yellow. We had activities throughout the day and the staff even met for coffee down the street before school to check in with each other. Students enjoyed a Zooper Dooper and a lunchtime dance party with a DJ Sincs (Miss Sinclair). I hope everyone out there is going okay, and we encourage all families to continue the conversation at home. Sometimes a simple "Are you okay?" can make a big difference and let someone know they are cared for.

Thank you to those parents who completed the ORIMA school survey. This data will help us as we plan for 2027 and beyond. I will share these results when they are published later in the year.

Today we finished the term with Footy Colours Day, raising awareness and support for Fight Cancer Foundation. Students dressed in the colours of their favourite sporting team and paraded around the basketball court at the start of the day. I wish all locals teams in finals the very best this weekend, including our very own Mrs O'Dwyer and Miss Sinclair! And congratulations to Mr Kennedy on his Katamatite Premiership last weekend!

Thank you to all parents and carers who attended the Parent Meeting held at the school on 16 September. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to come together as a school community and discuss a number of concerns that have arisen in recent weeks, particularly those relating to communication shared through social media and local newspapers. We appreciate the respectful and constructive conversations that took place and the ongoing support of our families.

Further information arising from this meeting will be communicated to families in a timely manner.
