Our Partnership Matters  

You are your child’s first and most important teacher. From you, children learn values and attitudes that shape them for life. That matters. How you support your child’s learning in the formal setting of school also matters. Together, schools and parents share the most important job in the world: to support the development and wellbeing of children, and to provide them with opportunities to thrive.  

As educators, our relationship with you is central to the success of every child at Endeavour.  When we work in partnership, we see increased academic achievements as well as healthy emotional, social, physical and spiritual development, which leads to better lifelong outcomes for students. 

One way we can work together is through Learning Conversations, which are offered at the end of Terms 1 and 3 for all year levels. The next Learning Conversations are happening next Tuesday. These discussions focus on your child’s academic progress and are led by teachers. Teachers may have requested a Learning Conversation for next week, and this is our way of signalling to you that your child’s growth may not be on track, or that there are important conversations about growth and extension that need to be had. Even without a formal request, all parents are warmly invited to attend, and it makes sense for students to also attend.  

In Terms 2 and 4, we invite parents and students to Care Group Connection Evenings. These meetingspowerfully position our students to lead robust and carefully structured conversations with you and their Care Group teacher about their personal and social capabilities. At Endeavour, we capture these capabilities in the Vision for Learners, where key skills, characteristics and dispositions are defined. This is student agency in action, where students will reveal their capacity to shape their learning journey and make responsible decisions and choices for improvement. Early next term, we invite parents of Years 7, 9 and 10 to support these conversations.  

We all want our young people to thrive, and working together is the best way to help them grow. When you receive an invitation for a Learning Conversation or Care Group Connection Evening, we hope you take full advantage of the opportunity to support your child’s development.
