From the Principal

As we enter the final weeks of Term 3, subject selections have now taken place for our students, marking an important step as they begin to look ahead to the opportunities and pathways that await them next year. With these decisions made, now is the time to refocus our attention on the present and consolidate the learning that has taken place throughout the term. 

These final weeks provide an important opportunity for students to revisit key concepts, seek clarification where needed and approach remaining assessments with purpose. I encourage all students to maintain their routines, remain engaged in their learning and make the most of the support and expertise of their teachers. 

This is particularly significant for our Year 12 students, who are rapidly approaching the final stages of their secondary schooling. After many years of learning, growth and shared experiences, the finish line is beginning to come into view. While it can be tempting to begin looking beyond school to what comes next, these remaining weeks matter. 

They provide an opportunity to deepen understanding, complete final assessments with confidence and ensure the hard work invested throughout the year is reflected in their results. I encourage our Year 12s to remain focused, support one another and finish their journey at Endeavour with the same determination and character they have demonstrated throughout their time at the College. 

This week also provided a special opportunity for our College Captains, who were invited to attend the Governor’s Reception at Government House on Wednesday 9 September. These receptions provide an opportunity for the Governor of South Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, to meet young South Australians and for students to experience Government House. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Captains to represent Endeavour College and connect with other young people from across South Australia.

Finally, I am delighted to commend the outstanding efforts of our Senior Drama students, who have brought this year’s production of Clue to life. 

Based on the much-loved 1985 film directed by Jonathan Lynn, Clue is a fast-paced slapstick comedy filled with laugh-out-loud moments, colourful characters and plenty of mystery, all unfolding during a rather unusual dinner party. 

For our students, however, Clue represents far more than what audiences see on stage. It is the culmination of months of dedication, creativity and perseverance, both within and beyond the classroom. It has been especially rewarding to witness our students’ willingness to take risks, collaborate with one another and confidently share their gifts. I could not be prouder of what they have achieved. 

A special thank you must also go to Mr Josh Haynes, the driving force behind this production, whose commitment, creativity and encouragement have inspired our students to bring their very best to the stage. 

To those who attended last night, thank you for supporting our performers, and to those joining us tonight, enjoy the show!
