Principal's message
We are already at the last two weeks of Term 3. It has been a busy one, with Book Week, Life Ed, the RACV Safety Squad and plenty of learning in between, and there is still a fair bit to come before we finish up.
A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Father's Day Breakfast last Friday. It was great to have so many special adults in the school first thing in the morning, and the students loved having you here. The creations they made to take home were wonderful, and they put a lot of care into them. I am sure they have found very special places in the hearts and homes of the people who received them.
Book Fair
The Book Fair is open in the library after school until Wednesday 16 September. The students have already had a look through, and families are welcome to come in and browse. Every purchase earns rewards points for our school library, so it is a great way to add to our shelves.
There is also an added incentive this year. For every $50 spent at the Book Fair, one extra staff member will get a cream pie in the face on the final day of term, with the students voting on who it is. The staff have been warned.
Our focus: Respect
Our school-wide focus for the last two weeks of term is Respect. We are teaching and reinforcing what this looks like across the school: speaking kindly, listening when someone else is talking, looking after our school and each other's belongings, and treating everyone fairly.
You can help at home by pointing it out when you see it, especially the small moments like waiting your turn or including someone who has been left out.
Parent Opinion Survey
The Parent, Carer and Guardian Opinion Survey is now open, and the details have gone out through Compass. It is anonymous and takes about fifteen minutes. In a school our size, every response makes a real difference, so please take the time to complete it if you have not already.
Attendance
Please keep an eye on attendance as we head towards the end of term. Even when there is a good reason, days away add up quickly and impact on learning and on friendships. If your child is finding it hard to get to school, please let us know early so we can help.
Casual dress day — Friday 18 September
To finish the term we are having a team-colours casual dress day. Students are invited to wear the colours of a team they love, whether that is footy, netball, soccer, cricket or anything else.
Across the day we will have a staff and parents versus students football and netball game, and a BBQ lunch. Families are very welcome to come along and join in, or just watch and cheer.
