Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS)

Mental Health and Wellbeing

It is hard to believe we are nearing the end of another term. Friendology sessions will begin again in Term 4. I will send home timetables once confirmed outlining session times for each level.

I have really enjoyed working with students to develop emotional literacy, and also support them in developing new connections with peers. We are developing a common language across the school and putting into practise learnt skills and strategies such as having quick come backs if others are mean-on-purpose, managing friendship fires and remembering our friendship facts that underpin every relationship, such as ‘no friendship is perfect’. I am incredibly proud of how open the students have been to sharing in these sessions, and how receptive they have been to the program.

The "Peaceful Kids" program is a Mindfulness and Positive Psychology based program, aimed to help lessen anxiety and stress and increase resilience in children from Prep - Year 12. The program aims to help children to further develop their emotional resilience so they are better equipped to deal with the day to day stresses that life brings them. Peaceful Kids is an 8 week small group program. Please contact Belinda, Director and Psychologist, if you would like more information about this service.

My door is always open to discuss anything, otherwise please feel free to email or call. Have a wonderful rest over the holiday period and I look forward to re-connecting in Term 4.
