School Production - Disney's Little Mermaid Jnr
Tonight is the opening night of our whole school production, and everyone is so excited. We would like to thank everyone that has helped put together this wonderful community event.
We will see you at the Robert Blackwood Theatre tonight!
Teaching Excellence Program 2026
Our school values the learning and development of our staff, and the positive impact this has on student outcomes and school improvement.
We are proud to share that Caroline Eaves and Lauren Gabriele have continued their professional learning through the Teaching Excellence Program at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership.
The program enables teachers to advance their capabilities and excellence in teaching.
So far this year, Caroline and Lauren have participated in 3 Discipline Days and 3 Teaching
Excellence Learning Community days. They have also completed a collaborative teacher inquiry project where they focused on a particular teaching practice to improve the outcomes for students in their class. Currently, they are completing an individual inquiry to strengthen their teaching practice even further.
We have enjoyed the learnings that Caroline and Lauren have brought from the program and look forward to seeing how they work to continue to support student outcomes and wellbeing at our school.
We are proud to have Caroline and Lauren represent our school and support the Academy in raising the status of this amazing profession!
We look forward to their continued success in Term 4!
Our wonderful Book Fair
The Book Fair has been finalised and once again it proved to be popular among the students and successful in the rewards we received.
Over the three days a total of $5900.55 spent which entitles us to $1770.17 of Scholastic rewards.
All these reward dollars are spent on new books for our library. This is a great result for our school community.
Thanks to Jo Hewett who coordinates this whole school event and ensures this event is so successful every year.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many staff who helped out to make
this event run so smoothly and effectively. From operating the Eftpos machine, taking cash payments, tidying shelves, packing up at the end of the day or simply just popping in to chat to the kids / families about what books they were buying – your contribution made a difference and was greatly appreciated.
Building works
During the school holidays we will have some works completed around our school. These works involve establishing a designated all abilities car park and redeveloping the ramp outside the library and all abilities toilet. As part of this work there will be some asbestos removed. We have been advised that this asbestos removal will occur on Saturday, 20th September. When these works occur the construction company will follow all health and safety guidelines and have exclusion areas. We suggest avoiding coming onto the school grounds while the asbestos is being removed. This will be occurring in the all abilities toilet near the ramp to the library.
Parent Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Carer Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement.
The Parent / Carer Opinion Survey opened on Monday 17 August and will close on Friday 18 September 2026.
All families are invited to participate, please see the attached for details on how to access the survey.
To date we have had 26 families complete the survey. This represents 9% of our families. We encourage all families to participate in this survey as we are always looking to improve our school.
The survey is online and only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / carers who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to the school directly for survey guides in your language. Please speak to our office staff if you would like more information.
Scholarships for students
The Department of Education manages a range of student scholarships. These are available for students who:
- complete Grade 4 to Year 11 in 2026
- are enrolled in Year 12 in 2026 and plan to do tertiary studies in 2027.
The department will evaluate applicants on their:
- academic achievement
- participation in school and community activities
- financial need.
Scholarships are either one-off payments or cover the duration of the student’s course.
Applications for these scholarships open on Thursday 1 October 2026 and close on Monday 1 February 2027.

Work at the Victorian state election
The Victorian state election will be held on Saturday 28 November 2026.
The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) is looking for people to staff voting centres in paid roles.
Roles suit a range of skills, experience and availability. Some involve several weeks of work before or after election day. Others are just for election day.
Working at an election is a chance to:
- earn extra income
- gain valuable work experience
- meet new people
- support your community
- play a role in Victoria's democracy

Parent Contributions 2027
By the end of November, we will inform the school community of the Parent Payments for 2027. The Department of Education has asked schools to itemise the payments. The cost for Parent Payments is discussed and approved at our Finance and School Council meetings prior to being announced to the school community.
Are you leaving CRPS in 2027?
We ask that you let us know if you are moving or have enrolled in another school in 2027. We require this information as soon as possible to establish grade structures for the start of the new school year. If your child is currently in Grades Foundation – 5, and will not be at Camelot Rise in 2027, please notify the school office in writing / email as soon as possible.
End of Term - Timetable for the last day of Term Three - Friday, 18th September
Friday, 18th September is the last day of term and the timetable for the day will be slightly different.
9.00am – 10.40am Students in class
10.40am – 11.10am Recess
11.10am – 12.50pm Students in class
12.50pm – 1.00pm Students eat lunch in class
1.00pm – 1.30pm Shortened Lunch play to allow for Footy / Sports Team Parade
1.50pm – 2.25pm Football / Sports team parade on the basketball courts
2.30pm Students dismissed from their classrooms
Our Camp Australia, Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program commences at 2.30pm on the last day of term.
Happy holidays
On behalf of all the staff we would like to wish all students and families a wonderful
holiday. It has been a great Term Three at Camelot Rise Primary School, and we look forward to this continuing in Term Four.
Term Four promises to be a very exciting term with our Year 6 students attending their Graduation (Wednesday, 9th December) and saying farewell to life at CRPS.
We also have our special 50th Birthday Celebrations on Friday, 20th November and our Christmas Concert on Wednesday, 16th December commencing at 9.15am. More information about these events will be posted on Compass next term.
We welcome the community to use our facilities during the holiday break as it is great seeing children and families being active and playing outdoors, however, if you see anyone acting suspiciously or inappropriately around the school grounds, please contact the Glen Waverley Police Station 9566 1555 or contact 000.
