Celebrating Book Week in Grade 1/2!

Last week, our classroom was filled with literary magic as we immersed ourselves in beautiful picture books for Book Week!

One of our featured texts was "My Nonno Loves" by Claudia Frittitta, a heartwarming story celebrating family, connection, and life's simple pleasures. Inspired by the book, the children created moving reflections, making thoughtful "Cups of Love" and crafting paper artworks depicting Nonno enjoying the little things in life.

A standout moment of the week was watching Edmund take the Class Author’s Seat! He shared his family’s home-written text, "The Colourful Bunch " , with the class. His classmates listened with total enthusiasm and gave him positive, encouraging feedback after his reading.

Scholastic Book Fair

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Book Fair! It was wonderful to see so many families and students getting excited about books and enjoying the opportunity to choose some new favourites to take home.

Thanks to the incredible support of our school community, we have raised over $1,200, which will go directly back into our school library to purchase new and exciting books for our students to enjoy. This is a fantastic result and will help us continue to build a library that inspires a love of reading across our school.

A very special thank you to all of the parents who volunteered their time to help run the Book Fair. Your generosity and willingness to lend a hand made such a difference and helped the event run so smoothly.
