Dear Families,

I cannot believe we are heading into Week 9 of the term next week! It has been a busy few weeks here at Holy Cross, packed with fantastic learning events like incursions, spelling programs in full swing, and my personal favourite—some very engaging Maths tasks.

There is still a huge buzz around the school following our Book Week parade, and that wonderful community energy carried right into our Dads' night last night. Thank you to all that joined in on our fun, and a big thank you to our wonderful staff for supporting this event. I want to take this opportunity to wish all the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures in our community a very special day on Sunday with your families.

Speaking personally, my Dad is a continual inspiration in my life, and I know how blessed I am to have him. For those in our community who may find Father's Day a challenging time, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers this weekend.

We are very excited about our upcoming HOLY CROSS FEAST DAY- On Friday 11th September. Sadly, Fr John is unavailable now for the Mass as he has a funeral so we will be having liturgy still to start the event at 11:40am. We invite all our families to come along and stay to watch the Tabloid sports fun. We will stop at 1:30pm for a school picnic lunch and families are most welcome to bring along a rug and share in the fun. We will then finish the rest of the Tabloid events and join together as a school community. It would be lovely to see families celebrating with us. 

 On Thursday 10th September, we will be acknowledging R U OK? Day and reminding our students how important it is to check in, connect and care for one another. Students are encouraged to wear a splash of yellow with their school uniform. This could be yellow socks, ribbon, hair accessory or any other yellow accessory! A little yellow can help spread a big message: Ask R U OK?

Please make sure you take some time to read the information on the last day of Term- which is fast approaching! After our successful PFA sausage sizzle on the last day of Term 2, we will be repeating this event with a Hot dog arvo. Students will finish and be dismissed to families at 1:30pm. You are welcome to stay and have a hot dog with the PFA from 1:30pm until 3pm. Please come along and celebrate the term.
