Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of Jacana School for Autism,

Over the recent Term 2 school holiday period, significant work was undertaken across Jacana School for Autism to maintain and improve our learning environments. Routine maintenance included inspections of lighting, fencing, drainage, roofing, pest control, soft-fall surfaces, structural elements and other essential infrastructure to ensure our facilities remain safe and well maintained.

Some improvement projects have also progressed, including:

• Modifications to the Playground 1 deck to accommodate an additional swing.

• Approval for solar control window film to be installed on some classroom windows

   

We are excited to be preparing for the official opening of our upgraded playgrounds later this year. The proposed opening date is Monday, 19 October, and we look forward to celebrating this milestone with our school community.

NEW SIGNAGE: Promoting Respectful School Communities

Families may also notice new Respectful Behaviour in School Communities signage displayed at our main school entrances, gates and reception area. These signs reinforce our shared commitment to ensuring Jacana School for Autism remains a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for students, families, staff and visitors. We thank our school community for continuing to work together to create a positive and respectful culture for everyone.
