Primary Sub School Leader 

Welcome to Term 3!

We hope all of our primary school students and families enjoyed a relaxing break and are excited for another wonderful term of learning.

A very warm welcome to Sara Meyer, who joins us as the new Prep teacher in Room 2. We are delighted to have Sara as part of our Primary team and look forward to the positive relationships she will build with our students and families.

This semester, students will engage in a range of exciting learning experiences aligned with the Victorian Curriculum. In English, our focus will be on Reading and Viewing, with students developing their skills in analysing, interpreting and evaluating texts, alongside Writing, where they will create a variety of texts for different purposes. In Mathematics, students will explore Algebra through patterns and Measurement, with a focus on sequence and order. During RRRR lessons, students will continue building their personal strengths by developing self-awareness, self-management and resilience.

There are many exciting events to look forward to this term. Our annual Father's Day stall will be held on the 3rd and 4th August, giving students the opportunity to purchase a special gift for someone important in their lives. 

Student Support Group (SSG) meetings will be held during Weeks 3, 4 and 5, providing an opportunity for families and school staff to celebrate each student's progress, review learning goals and plan together for the remainder of the year. 

Primary students will also attend the All in Aerial Excursion on the 18th August, and the primary school performance will be held on the 14th September.

We look forward to another fantastic term of learning, growth and celebration across our primary school.

ROOM 2

Hi! My name is Sara Meyer, and I am excited to be the new teacher in Room 2. I’m from Las Vegas in the USA and have been teaching in Special Schools, Inclusion Programs, and as an Art Teacher for several years now across the USA, New Zealand, Brisbane and now here! I look forward to working at Jacana School for Autism and continuing to get to know the students. 

Room 2 had a great first week back from break. We worked on learning the letter T, had fun with playdoh and fine motor activities, and enjoyed watching and dancing along while Pancakes played Old McDonald on the didgeridoo at our NAIDOC Week Incursion!
