ROOM 20

The first week back at school has been a wonderful start to the new term. Students returned with enthusiasm and were excited to reconnect with their peers, staff, and familiar routines. It has been fantastic to see everyone settle in so well and engage positively in classroom learning and activities. A highlight of the week was attending the NAIDOC Week incursion, which provided a meaningful opportunity to celebrate and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and participated with great interest and respect. We look forward to another exciting term filled with engaging learning experiences, excursions, incursions, and many opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and achieve together.

ROOM 22

Term 2 went by very fast while we worked on achieving our learning goals for Semester 1. We practised our sounds and writing consonant blends, while in Mathematics, we completed many interesting surveys, including choosing our own topic and question to ask our peers in nearby classrooms. We successfully completed our involvement in HoL Canteen and have learnt a lot about food preparation, hygiene and food ordering with Vicki, we are now looking forward to learning to use tools and equipment in HoL Build with Baki. Some of the highlights in Term 2 were the Essendon Football Club Incursion, the Colour Run and participation of some of our students in Canine Comprehension. We successfully undertook an excursion to Broadmeadows Shopping Centre and completed the Swimming Program at the Broadmeadows Aquatic Centre.

This term in Science we are learning about the forces of push and pull and will be applying our knowledge to make paper planes and rubber band cars, and we will find out about magnetic forces. ‘Genie Land’ is the theme we have chosen for our performance in the school production, and we will be practising our choreography in the classroom in the lead up to the date in Week 10. In Week 3 we are participating in a class excursion, taking the train to Flinders Street Station and return.
