As you will have read in Simone's report, our Year 10 and 11 students are currently completing their Senior School Subject Selections for 2027. Students have received a Senior School Subject Selection Guide and Form to support their decision‑making. it is expected that student complete all parts of this form and have it signed by a parent. We encourage families to continue conversations at home about possible subject choices, as these decisions play an important role in shaping each student’s final years of secondary schooling and future pathways.
All students should now have booked an appointment with our Careers and Pathways Practitioner, Jo Macklan, and parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the meeting with their child. To ensure these conversations are meaningful and well‑informed, students are expected to come prepared for their scheduled meeting.
As part of World Day of Friendship on Thursday 30th of July, we’ll be providing a dedicated space for students to write letters of appreciation to their friends and peers. This activity encourages students to recognise the beautiful friendships, connections, and peer supports that exist within our school community.
In line with our school value of kindness, this celebration offers students a meaningful opportunity to express gratitude, acknowledge others, and strengthen the positive relationships that help them feel connected and supported every day.
Students will have the opportunity to write their letters during Year Level Assemblies, as well as at a letter‑writing session on Wednesday lunchtime in the library. Once written, students will post their letters through ‘MBSC Post’ in my office. All letters will be distributed on Thursday to celebrate.
