Welcome to Term 1!
A big, warm welcome to all our Year 7 families and those joining other year levels in 2026.
On behalf of the Koonung Parents and Friends Association (PFA), we’re so excited to welcome you to our wonderful school community. We hope you enjoyed the morning tea hosted by the PFA on the first day of school — it was a lovely way to celebrate the beginning of an exciting new chapter. With the sunshine on our side, it was the perfect opportunity to connect, chat and start building new friendships.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible volunteers — we had over 100 supporting PFA events last year! So many of these generous parents went above and beyond, giving their time and energy across multiple events. We simply couldn’t do it without you.

We’d love for you to stay in touch throughout the year! Keep an eye on this newsletter and our PFA WhatsApp groups for updates on upcoming events, activities, and ways to get involved. There are plenty of opportunities ahead to connect and create special memories together. Stayed tuned for a separate announcement regarding links to the parent year level groups.

We’re also looking for some fresh faces to join the PFA committee and working groups. If you’re curious about what’s involved, please refer to the attached information about PFA roles and Overview pack.
Getting involved is a wonderful way to create meaningful experiences for our students and families while fostering a real sense of belonging. We’d love you to join us and be part of making a positive impact in our school community. The PFA meets twice a term and all parents and carers are welcome. You don’t need to be on the committee to join in — you can tune in from home or attend in person. Check the attached calendar for meeting dates.
