CASTING CALL - Auditions

Auditions for Stage School Australia's January 2026 production, Matilda The Musical JR are now OPEN!

Hi ,Stage School Australia is on the lookout for talented young performers for our upcoming production of Matilda The Musical JR - and your students could be perfect!

We are seeking talent aged 10-18 from across Melbourne to bring this magical and mischievous musical adventure to the big stage. If you have any students who may be interested, please let them know by sharing the audition information! Stage School Australia has delighted audiences with high-quality school holiday productions for over a decade, most recently Mary Poppins JR. This is a fantastic opportunity for young performers to:

  • Develop their performance skills in singing, dancing, and acting.
  • Experience first-hand what it's like to be in a full-scale production over the school holidays.
  • Work with an incredible team of experienced creatives.
  • Make a new friends and create unforgettable memories!

About the Show:Matilda The Musical JR is the spirited, witty and heart-warming story of an extraordinary little girl with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind who dares to take a stand. Full of bold characters, show-stopping numbers and high-energy ensemble moments, Matilda The Musical JR celebrates the power of imagination, friendship, and standing up for what's right.

This junior adaptation offers a fantastic range of roles for singers, dancers and actors to shine - from cheeky school kids and outrageous grown-ups to the powerful ensembles that drive the action.

To ensure the best experience for all auditionees, we’ve tailored the audition material:

• Younger Voices (13 years and Under)

• Older Voices (14+ years)

Submissions must close on Sunday 28th of September, 2025.
