Grade 3/4/5

It has been a very busy and exciting few weeks in the 3/4/5 classroom!

In Literacy, we have recently finished our study of The Iron Man. Students really enjoyed exploring the novel and completing a range of reading and writing activities based around the story. Miss Mitchell has now taken over some of our Literacy teaching, with students learning about procedural texts and how to clearly explain how to do or make something. This week, students had lots of fun creating their own treasure maps and writing directions and procedures to go with them. There is plenty more procedural writing to come!

In Mathematics, we have been busy learning about 3D objects and their different features, as well as developing our skills in telling the time. Students have been working with clocks and applying their knowledge to a range of real-life time problems.

In Humanities, we have been investigating Australia and its neighbouring countries. Students have been learning about where these countries are located and exploring some of their similarities and differences.

Outside of the classroom, it has certainly been a busy few weeks! Students have participated in swimming lessons and enjoyed all of the excitement of Book Week and our dress up. It has been wonderful to see everyone getting involved and making the most of these extra activities.

We are looking forward to another busy few weeks of learning in 3/4/5! Only 3 weeks until HOLIDAYS
