Under 12B girls, played their Friday night game against Saint Mary’s Orange, taking a nice away win of 28 – 16. Well done to Hazel Johns and Eloise Bufton, both scoring 8 points.

The 14B College Sooty Owls went up against Minders, they had a strongstart but finished with a loss 8 – 35. Standouts of the game were Annika Nelson and Violet Shrive, who both scored 4 points for their team, working hard together and staying persistent.

16A Majestic Owls went head-to-head with Saint Mary's, losing by only 3 points in the final minute,  27 – 30. Each and every one of those girls fought hard, but unfortunately, time ran short. Standouts from the game were Grace O’Sullivan, who scored a whopping 11 points, and Elsie Brown and Ava Ryan were also big contributors, scoring another 7 and 6 points.

16B College Snowy Owls had a bye this week but the past two weeks have really stepped up for one another showing determination and grit on the basketball court. The girls have shown strongteam work and good sportsmanship. In the first round they played against Minders White and won by a  whopping 88 points, (96 – 8) with Annika Fitzsimmons putting up 23 points, Elodie Cochran 22, Olivia Baulch 21 and Ellie Lewis 20. The following week they played Tigers, and although they had a 29-point win, this game really tested the girls’ determination for the ball.

Our Div 2 girls had a forfeit against Barber Babes.  The College Div 3 Majestic Owls went up against Barber Babes White and lost of 26 – 19. An outstanding player was Elsie Brown, who put up 6 points, fought hard for the ball with her constant rebounding, and the team worked well, but unfortunately fell just short.

I would like to say a big thank you to the HBA and all of our teams and coaches for taking the time to coach our College teams. I would also like to thank Kira Ryan for her efforts in deciding teams, as well as all the umpires; without them, we wouldn’t be playing.

The Division 1 College women’s team had a win against Coleraine, 4-1. Our game really picked up after halftime, when we saw Grace Potter dominate in the forward line, scoring all four goals, alongside great ball movement from Jessica Templeton and Abbey Henderson. Defence remained strong throughout the game to help support our forwards, with Zoe Christie helping to move the ball down the pitch. We look forward to an exciting game this Friday against Dunkeld Red at 4:30pm.

The Division 1 College Men’s team had a strong game on Sunday, winning against the Demons 7-2. The game started slowly, and the men were down 0-2 during the first quarter; however, after quarter time, they completely dominated with fast ball movement, endeavour and excellent teamwork. Goal scorers included Taylor Hayley and Old Collegian Tane Nelson, both scoring two, and Jack Wallis, Rupert Merrin and Max Cameron, all scoring a goal each.
