Coordinator Wanted – Scholastic Book Club
We are looking for a volunteer to take on the role of Scholastic Book Club Coordinator at Holy Family Primary School!
Scholastic Book Club is a wonderful opportunity to encourage children’s love of books while earning valuable school credits with every order placed. These credits help us purchase books and resources for our school.
What’s involved?
- Managing the online ordering system – very simple system.
- Collecting book deliveries from school and packing books into individual orders for students and returning them to school for distribution.
Time commitment: Approximately 3-4 hours per term. There is only one order per term.
Flexible volunteering: Pretty much all the work can be completed from home, making this a great opportunity for someone who would like to contribute to the school without a big ongoing time commitment. It’s a simple but meaningful way to support our children’s learning and give back to our school community.
You will have full training and resources from the current coordinator.
Can you help? Please get in touch with the Eithne King if you are able to take on this role.
Holy Family Parents & Friends in 2027
We are inviting new parents to consider stepping forward and becoming part of the Holy Family P&F Team - it’s time for some new faces, new ideas and new energy to step forward.
Could that be you?
We know that joining the P&F can feel like a big commitment. But the P&F isn’t about one person doing everything. It’s about a group of parents working together and each giving what they can.
You might be able to run an event, help organise something behind the scenes, bring an idea to the table, volunteer for a few hours, or simply lend a hand when you are available.
You don't have to commit to the whole year to make a difference.
Maybe you can help with one event.Maybe you have a great idea you'd love to see happen.Maybe you can spare a few hours here and there.Maybe you're ready to take the next step and join the Executive.
Whatever your capacity, every little bit helps.
Being part of the P&F is also about more than fundraising. It’s about getting to know other parents, making new friendships, being involved in your children’s school years and helping create the kind of community that our children will remember.
Sometimes the best things come from simply putting your hand up and saying, “I can help.”
So, if you’ve ever thought about getting involved but wondered whether you had enough time, experience or confidence — we’d love you to consider giving it a go. You won’t be doing it alone. The P&F is a team, and we are looking forward to welcoming new parents, new ideas and new enthusiasm in 2027.
If you are interested in becoming part of the P&F Team please watch out for the AGM in November or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Eithne King.
Last week we had our yearly inspection by Monash Council and I am pleased to say that we passed with flying colours! One thing I spoke to the inspector about was regular checks on ingredient lists from the suppliers of the products we sell, as sometimes ingredients change without any notification. This prompted me to include the the most up to date ingredient lists for the products available in Kids Cafe.
Thank you to Jaclyn Chua for your continued organisation of Kids Cafe and to our wonderful volunteers who come in each week for opening.
