Student Leadership Council

On Tuesday the 21st of April, SLC team participated in a memorable leadership training day run by Miss V and Mr McCallum. To start the day, we were treated to delicious egg and bacon rolls while taking part in fun games that helped us learn more about each other and build stronger connections as a team.

We then watched an informative presentation ran by Miss V and Mr McCallum, where we learned about the important values of being a strong leader, such as empathy, respect, responsibility, and communication. Having values like these are essential, as leaders need to be able to collaborate effectively, support others, and set a positive example for those around them. We discussed how leadership is not only about guiding others, but also about listening carefully and making fair decisions. To wrap up the session, we participated in public speaking practice, which helped us feel more confident when speaking in front of others. This was especially valuable for assemblies and future events, where clear and confident communication is important. Overall, the leadership training day was an enjoyable and worthwhile experience that taught us many valuable skills we can use throughout the year.
