3/4 Steiner

Kii 3/4S families,
There has been much excitement around the school over the past fortnight, as our new building was officially opened after a year and a half of work! The students have been thoroughly enjoying exploring the new spaces, particularly the library, which is conveniently located right next to our classroom.
Just as we had done with the garden, we also spent time in the ‘Prep corridor’ this fortnight to farewell the spaces that hold so many special memories from the students’ early years of schooling. It was lovely to revisit the spaces together, sharing stories and reminiscing about the years spent there as we said goodbye in preparation for the next phase of the school build. That space is going to be remodelled into new play spaces to be enjoyed by all.
The Arts Festival was a wonderful success, and we are so grateful to everyone who came along to celebrate the creativity and talents of our TPS community. The Grade 3/4s performed Best Day of My Life by American Authors, beautifully bringing together a range of instruments, including guitars, marimba and xylophone.
In Main Lesson, we have begun rehearsals for our class play, The Theft of Thor’s Hammer (performance date to be confirmed). There has been much excitement as students explore their characters and begin dreaming up ideas for costumes, props and set designs. We were also lucky enough to watch 5/6S perform their class play, which provided a lot of inspiration!
In Mathematics, students have been exploring chance and probability through hands-on experiments and creating probability scales to represent the likelihood of different events. They have also been making connections between fractions, percentages and decimals, including concepts such as impossible, equally likely and certain.
