What can we do during recess and lunch?
There are lots of great ways for students to enjoy their recess and lunch breaks while staying safe, active and connected!
Where can students play?
- Years 3–6: Students can choose to play at the park, attend a lunchtime club or spend time in the Babajen shared space (lunch only).
Years F–2: Students can play in the F–2 area, the new yard, attend a lunchtime club or spend time in the Babajen shared space (lunch only).
The big tree near the new Language and Culture classroom is a quiet space. This area is for quiet activities and is not a place for running or other active games.
Hats and sun safety
A reminder that hats must be worn outdoors during Terms 1 and 4. Please ensure your child brings a clearly labelled, broad-brimmed or legionnaire-style hat to school every day.
Students who do not have a hat will need to remain in designated shaded areas:
- F–2: On the tiered seating near the stairs.
- Years 3–6: In the shade at the park.
Eating times and keeping our yard clean
All eating takes place in the classroom, and no food is to be taken outside. This helps us keep our school grounds litter-free, which is important for both our local community and the wildlife that share our environment.
Lunch clubs
There are lots of wonderful lunch clubs on offer for students to enjoy. Please see the poster below for the full list of activities.
The Wellbeing Club has a new home upstairs in Lucy’s former classroom. Students have been enjoying spending time at the club on Wednesdays and Thursdays, taking part in puzzles, reading, drawing, games, construction and sensory play.
Everyone is welcome to come along, join in and enjoy a calm, creative space with friends.
Looking ahead
We really appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while the final stage of building construction is underway. Thank you for your understanding as we work through these final changes. We are looking forward to lots of fun, active play in our newly landscaped playground next year!
Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe, welcoming and enjoyable place for everyone.
