Book Fair 2026 - Save the Date!
Wed 19 August - Fri 21 August
Term 3 is an exciting time for students at St Patrick’s. There is a special kind of magic in the air as our school community comes together to celebrate stories, imagination and the joy of reading. Book Week is more than an event, it is a tradition that shapes lifelong readers. Students dress up as their favourite characters, take part in drama and art activities and create lifelong memories that remind us of the importance of literature.
Each year St Patrick’s engages with Scholastic to host a Book Fair in the lead up to Book Week. A ‘pop up’ style Book Fair will be set up in the Library. Book Fair is a highly anticipated event and all purchases support our school. More details will be shared with our St Patrick’s community in Term 3. Please save the date!
Premier’s Reading Challenge
There is nothing quite like walking into our K-2 classrooms and witnessing the class mesmerised by their teacher reading a book. Students settle in, imaginations switch on and suddenly students are travelling through the same story together. Our K-2 classes are making great progress with PRC! Library staff will finalise all K-2 PRC Reading Records in Term 3 and certificates will be presented to classes in Term 4. Parents do not have to enter K-2 students in PRC. A big thank you to our wonderful teachers for their support of PRC.
What a wonderful response we have had to PRC for our Yr 3-6 students! A gentle reminder - PRC is not completed at school for students in Yr 3-6. These students are eligible to participate in their own time. If your child has read 20 books since September last year they have met the requirements for PRC 2026. This week we sent home PRC log on details and passwords to all Year 3 students. Students in Y3 who have participated in PRC for 4 years are eligible for their GOLD PRC certificate, to be presented in Term 4 this year. We do not want anyone to miss this milestone achievement and encourage all to participate.
All PRC logon details and passwords for Y3-6 students can be obtained from Mrs Wainwright by emailing announcements@stpsutherland.catholic.edu.au
We would like to take this opportunity to wish all families a well deserved break after a busy Term 2.
