We were very lucky to have past Newham Primary student Georgia, return to visit us for a special story time. Georgia was a student at Newham who is now studying her teaching degree and asked if she could come in to do a read aloud and activity. Georgia read us "The Battle," by Ashling Kwok, a story about a brave boy knight starting his first day of school. Georgia was very impressed by the way students were able to name and analyse the feelings of characters in the story during their discussions. Thanks for visiting Georgia, we look forward to having you come to read to us again. 

Short of teachers but not short of writers!

On Tuesday, a few of our teachers had to go to meetings outside school or were sick so the students at Newham primary were given a picture prompt and completed a writing task to share with the whole school. This gave the F/1 students a chance to work with their buddies to come up with a story and for all of the students in the school to share their wonderful ideas with students from the other classes. It was so lovely to see the students working together and being respectful regardless of the changes that day.
