The Sea is our Best Friend

We had a great start to term 2 with the students meeting Hani for the first time, via zoom.
We also met one of the teachers from our new sister school in Sagena in Sumbawa Island, Indonesia.
Hani discussed some facts about our sister school and the children were fascinated to hear that school only went to 11am or 12pm. However they were not to happy to hear that school started at 7 am.
Our students were able to share some activities that the grade ¾ community have participated in during the last couple of years to help the local marine and coastal environment.
Such as mangrove planting and monitoring at Hastings foreshore, clean up Australia Day and the construction and maintenance of Woolley’s beach shell reef.
The students are very keen for another catch up to hear more about how the students in Sagena get to go to the beach daily. What a great global connection these students are making.
