Sister School Visit

Italian Sister School Visit

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting students from our Italian sister school, Liceo Artistico Vincenzo Cardarelli – La Spezia.

Cardarelli is a specialist high school in Italy focused on the Arts and Music. Students there complete a broad core curriculum in their first two years before moving into their chosen artistic fields for the final three, balancing creativity with rigorous academic study.

During their time in Australia, the Italian students toured parts of Victoria and spent three days with us at GSSC. While here, they took part in a range of cultural and community activities, including a Cultural Wonderings/Comparison workshop, a school tour, and a visit to the Shepparton Heritage Centre. They also enjoyed exploring local attractions such as the Tank Museum, SAM, and Shepparton Lake, and joined our First Nations students and KE staff for a Dreamtime session.

Highlights of the visit included attending a VCE Music presentation, sharing lunch by the lake, and capturing photos with Shepparton’s iconic cows!

The exchange was a valuable opportunity for our students to connect with peers from across the globe, share cultures and perspectives, and strengthen the bond between our schools. Experiences like this demonstrate the richness of global learning and the importance of our languages program here at GSSC.
