Year 9 Humanities – Mini LATROBE Tours

This week, our Year 9 Humanities classes had the exciting opportunity to tour the LATROBE University Shepparton campus. These experiences are invaluable in helping younger students become familiar with tertiary education, demystifying university life, and building confidence in future pathway planning well before their senior years.

Highlights of the tour included:

• Exploring the hospital simulation labs, where university students apply both practical and theoretical learning in real-life scenarios.

• Touring the new, state-of-the-art facilities, including bookable student spaces and a fully equipped conference room.

• Gaining insight into the wide range of courses available and understanding how a university study timetable is structured.

• Visiting key campus areas such as the Koorie and Art Space, community conference room, library, outdoor spaces, student kitchenette, and the community movie area.

• Learning about the extensive support services La Trobe provides to students, both before and during their studies.

A heartfelt thank you to Rikee Mazzella and the LATROBE team for hosting our students and creating such an engaging and informative experience. We also extend our thanks to Craig Parker, GSSC Humanities Teacher for his ongoing dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for our students through his coordination from the GSSC side.
