Welcome to our new staff
I would like to warmly welcome two new staff members to our Belmore School community. Penny Monico (Occupational Therapist) and Emily Elston (Speech Pathologist) have both joined our Allied Health team this term and have been familiarising themselves with our wonderful students and school processes. It is lovely to have them as part of our school team.

Happy Mother's Day
On Friday the 9th of May we were lucky enough to host some very special guests for our Mother's Day afternoon tea celebration. Our afternoon tea celebration was held in our soon-to-be 'pop up cafe', Cafe Club 7! This is a project being run by our ASDAN students, who are hoping to coordinate our Special Events and some coffee mornings in the future. After our afternoon tea celebration our special guests were invited to attend the classroom activities or our fabulous Music Club outside in the playground in the beautiful sunshine. Thank you to all of our mothers and special guests for attending such a lovely event.
Official School Opening tour and assembly
On Monday the 26th of May we hosted Mr John Berger MP, Member for Southern Metropolitan Region and members of the capital works team at Belmore School for an official opening event of the major building works project. Our student leaders prepared a comprehensive tour of the school, where they highlighted some of their favourite new features of our school. The school tour was followed by a whole school assembly and ribbon cutting ceremony. It was a lovely opportunity to celebrate and thank all of those involved during the major project, especially our staff, students and families who demonstrated immense flexibility during the intense construction phases. We look forward to hosting a family and friends' event later in the year, when the weather is warmer, to celebrate our new school together.
Special thanks to the entire build team at SJHiggins, Our Architect Shing-him from JMA Architects, the project management team from Turner & Turner, various representatives from the VSBA and lastly a big thank you to Julie Nicholson, who has worked tirelessly on ensuring that our new school best supports our students to engage in their learning, social opportunities and all of their wonderful programs.
