Principal's Message

St Luke's... "nurturing faith filled, curious children to become creative contributors and innovative problem solvers for a changing world."

Dear Parents and Carers,

Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) and St Luke’s are committed to fostering strong partnerships with families, creating places of welcome and belonging where every member of the community can contribute and be heard.

Opportunities for parent involvement occur across the school year with engagement with student performances, celebrations of learning, masses and liturgies. Where significant change occurs in our school, parents are consulted en masse, and in the last two years we have had significant attendance at our twice termly parent education events.

In 2026, the Parramatta Parent Representative Council (PRC) will be replaced by a new family engagement body, the Family Partnership Council (FPC). This new approach is designed to be a positive, simple and manageable way for families to contribute to conversations across the Diocese of Parramatta without it feeling like an extra commitment.

The FPC focuses less on a formal committee structure and more on building connection and belonging, gathering family voice in simple ways, sharing practical resources and ideas across schools, and supporting parent learning opportunities (workshops and speakers). I encourage all our parents and carers to actively participate in the new FPC by attending events and discussion opportunities.

More information about FPC event dates, guest speakers and discussion topics will be available on the CSPD website as it becomes available and will also be shared on CSPD and school social media channels.

I am also inviting expressions of interest from parents and carers to become a Family Ambassador for our school in 2026. The role of a Family Ambassador is to help new families feel welcome and connected to school life, share key updates and invitations, encourage participation in school and Diocesan events, gather general feedback/themes from families to share with me and participate in FPC events once per Term.

Family Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to be considered to take on a small number of leadership and advisory roles within the FPC.

More information about the FPC and Family Ambassadors is available in the Family Ambassador Toolkit included with this letter.

If you would like to be considered as our Family Ambassador, please email the front office the details of your children.

Consideration will be given to existing relationships that the family have with the school and the breadth of coverage across our many services.

I look forward to engaging with all of our wonderful families throughout 2026.

Kind regards
