Clyde North Campus News

What a wonderful start to the year it has been for our Year 7 students. Last week’s camps at Forest Edge were a true highlight, offering an ideal opportunity for students to step outside their comfort zones, deepen their friendships, and immerse themselves in the adventure of secondary school life.
Over three days, our students embraced every challenge with enthusiasm and courage. Whether they were navigating the high ropes course, scaling the rock-climbing wall, or guiding their rafts down the river, it was inspiring to see their confidence grow with each activity. The combination of teamwork, perseverance, and plenty of laughter made memorable experiences for all.
Beyond the physical challenges, one of the greatest successes of the camp was the way students connected with one another. New friendships formed quickly, and existing bonds became stronger as they encouraged, supported, and celebrated each other’s achievements. The sense of community that emerged will serve as a strong foundation for the years ahead. I personally really enjoyed visiting the first camp and seeing the students in action.
A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated staff who supported students throughout the camps, ensuring their safety, comfort, and enjoyment. Their willingness to engage in activities, share stories, and guide students through both challenges and triumphs made a significant difference.
We look forward to building on the positive start this camp has provided as our Year 7s continue to settle into life at our Campus. Their energy, kindness, and growing confidence are already enriching our St Peter’s community.
Student Reflection:
I ❤️ camp and Yr 7 camp had to have been my favourite ever, my most favourite activities had to have been the river sledding and archery. I wasn't worried about going on camp because I knew I would have my friends with me! I am a bit of a social butterfly so I had no problem meeting new people and the food was AMAZING, I don't think we had one bad meal. A bit of advice I would give to the year 7s going to camp next year is this, don't be afraid to make new friends and try new things because those 1 or 2 friends that you make on camp might be some of your lifelong friends so have fun and don't stress.

On Thursday 5 March, a select group of students represented St Peter’s Clyde North at the Basketball Victoria 3x3 Tournament held at Jubilee Park Stadium. All teams competed with determination and great sportsmanship throughout the day. Our Senior Boys finished in 5th and 9th place—an excellent effort in a highly competitive field. A special congratulations goes to our Senior Girls team, who claimed an impressive 2nd place and have now qualified for the State Finals!
This term, our Clyde North students have been proudly representing the school in SIS sports, competing across Volleyball, Indoor Cricket, Soccer and Basketball. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment each week. With a few rounds still to go in our Term 1 season, we wish all teams the very best for their remaining matches.
