Goodbye Mary

Today marked the last day at Wedderburn College for our Mental Health Practitioner, Mary Sebti. Mary has worked with us part-time over the past six years, in a combined role with IDHS and Wedderburn College.  Pictured above Mary middle with her two main staff members she worked closly with Mr Lockhart and Kerry Walker as part of the school wellbeing team

Mary is moving on to a new full-time role at Austin Hospital in Melbourne. We thank her sincerely for her kind and caring nature, and the invaluable support she has provided to our students and community over the years. We wish her all the very best for this exciting next chapter.

A Few Reminders

Footy Colours Day – This Friday!

Get ready to show your team spirit — this Friday is the annual  Footy Colours Day! 

Students and staff are invited to come dressed in their favourite sports colours or footy gear for the day.

SLC will be running footy activities at lunchtime, so get involved and join in the fun.

We look forward to seeing everyone's colours on display!

A Few Reminders:

• School finishes at 2:30pm this Friday.
• The canteen will be closed Thursday and Friday this week — please pack a lunch for both days.

We wish all staff members, students and families all the best for the NC grand finals this weekend.   All the best to netball, hockey and football teams who will try to bring home the 2026 premierships.

School Cookbook Printing Update

We want to keep you informed about an unfortunate delay affecting our school cookbook.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the printing timeline has extended. We were initially told the cookbook would take 4–6 weeks to print, but we have since been informed it will now take 8–9 weeks, meaning delivery is expected in October.

We sincerely apologise for this delay and will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information from the printer.

If you are unable to wait and would prefer a refund, please contact the office and we will be happy to arrange this for you.

On a positive note, we think you'll be amazed by the quality and size of the finished cookbook. Before sending it to print, we took the project to the next level, upgrading it to a higher-quality finish including another 45 pages, with an extra 65 photos of current and past historical events; we're confident it will be well worth the wait.

A Massive Thank You To Staff

A huge, heartfelt thank you to all our incredible Wedderburn staff for their outstanding efforts throughout Term 3 — especially for making Youth Week Career Expo such an amazing success!

Your dedication, hard work, and passion don't go unnoticed. From the planning and preparation behind the scenes to the energy you brought on the day, you helped create a fantastic experience for our students and community. Thank you for everything you do — you truly make our school community shine. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated team!

We'd also like to give a special shout-out to our SLC (Student Leadership Council) for their super effort in organising RUOK Day, the Colour Run, and PJ Day this term. 

Your enthusiasm, organisation, and community spirit have not gone unnoticed — you are all shaping up to be fantastic future leaders. Well done!

It's moments like these that remind us just how special our school community truly is, and we couldn't be prouder of everyone involved.
