SLC Term 3 Wrap-Up

Term 3 has been a huge one for the SLC! We have had an action packed term filled with fun, connection and opportunities to make a positive difference in our school community.

On Friday 4 September, Wedderburn College dressed in their PJs to raise awareness and funds for young people living in out-of-home care. Thanks to the generosity of our students, staff and families, we raised over $300!

The following week, on Tuesday 8 September, the College dressed in a splash of yellow to spread an important message about mental health and the importance of checking in with those around us. The theme for the day was connecting with our community and asking, “R U OK?”

We started the day with a beautiful breakfast in the sunshine, with staff and students enjoying bacon, eggs, pancakes and fresh fruit while connecting and sharing a yarn before homeroom.

We finished the day with some active fun in the sun! Students and staff took to the Top Oval for some friendly competition and connection through exercise, completing our R U OK? Day Colour Run. It was fantastic to see so many staff and students running, walking, laughing and having fun while getting covered in colour!

Ansett won the Colour Run with the most laps of the course, but everyone was a winner as we celebrated a fantastic day together. We finished the afternoon with a special guest DJ’s, “Marshmello,” who wrapped up the day with an awesome Colour Dance Party!

The SLC would like to thank all staff and students for their support in organising, setting up and running our events this term. These magnificent days all started with student ideas voiced at SLC.

If you have an idea for a future event, activity or a way we can improve our school, speak up and share your voice with an SLC representative! You could even consider joining the SLC in 2027.
