Balancing Life & Technology

Technology is part of everyday family life but building healthy digital habits is about more than simply limiting screen time.
Families can now access the recording of the Cyber Safety Project’s practical and engaging webinar exploring what healthy technology use really looks like.
Rather than focusing on minutes and restrictions, the session explored realistic, evidence-informed strategies to help children develop balanced and positive relationships with technology.
The webinar covered:
- Screen time – Looking beyond the numbers to what really matters.
- Gaming battles – Reducing conflict and encouraging healthy gaming habits.
- Videos & scrolling – Understanding healthy and unhealthy patterns of use.
- Sleep & bedtime – Creating routines that support wellbeing.
- Tech conflict – Practical strategies for setting boundaries that work.
- Finding balance – Helping children build lifelong healthy digital habits.
The session provides parents and carers with practical strategies for managing screen time, gaming, scrolling, sleep routines and technology-related conflict at home.
